Ardoyne march snub a sad affair

(Editorial, Irelandclick.com)

The decision of the Apprentice Boys to snub one of the biggest funerals ever seen in Belfast this Saturday to march past nationalist homes will come as no surprise to the hard-pressed residents of Somerdale, Mountainview, Ardoyne and Crumlin Road.

It's time again for the seasonal trip to Derry for the Apprentice Boys – time again for misery for many.

It's imperative with the trauma suffered by this community over the summer months is not revisited and that the Apprentice Boys show respect for George Best's funeral.

How much easier it would be if the Apprentice Boys would give residents their place in what everyone is working towards – a society of equality.
