McGurk's families should be praised

The families of those murdered in the McGurk's atrocity must be praised to the highest heavens for their efforts in extracting the truth about security force collusion in their loved ones' violent deaths.
These often-elderly family members who endured years of pain exacerbated by the lie of an IRA own goal are forging ahead towards the truth.
The revelations in this paper today are nothing short of staggering over the shameful way the nationalist people of this community were treated. That includes withholding vital eyewitness evidence and the clear attempted manipulation of a little boy and even death threats against a child.
Knowing the big strides being taken and the high level meeting with the Taoiseach afoot next month, those who peddled their atrocious lies on the backs of these innocent victims need to watch this space. This is not the end of the matter.
