News from a conference organised by Sinn Féin this week will surprise no one who lives in any of the interface communities across the north of the city, but it will disgust all right thinking people.
For the event, organised by SF MLA Kathy Stanton, highlighted a catalogue of 358 sectarian attacks, which took place in the areas over the past nine months.
During that period Nationalists have seen 72 paint bombs, 45 incidents of intimidation, 20 assaults, 42 paint bombs, 50 attacks on vehicles and much more on a community under siege. And it's time that these attacks were condemned by Unionist politicians.
For too long now condemnation from those politicians has been a quiet whisper in the background.
Those politicians must take leadership in their community and help play their part in trying to stop this sectarian madness.
The discussion at the conference not only centred on attacks on interfaces but also on other issues that affect those living in these areas including health, education, employment as well as poverty-related issues.
There is an onus on the British and Irish governments to begin a consultation process to look into interfaces and to free up the resources needed to tackle the problems faced.
As Gerry O'Reilly said at this week's conference, it's time for the two governments to grab the bull by the horns.
