SDLP Leader Mark Durkan has written to the leaders of all pro-agreement parties seeking to form a common approach to the forthcoming review talks.
Mr Durkan said now that the parties have received formal requests for submissions from the two governments he believed it would be helpful if the pro-agreement parties tried to develop a good understanding of the review's scale, scope and structure.
He said: "Any discussions to this end would be without prejudice to any party's position but avoiding unnecessary confusion or contention among us would be in all our interests.
"Divisions between the pro-agreement parties on key issues will, after all, only benefit those who have consistently opposed the agreements constructive way forward."
Mr Durkan added: "The election result may have damaged the agreement, but it has not destroyed it. If pro-agreement parties work better together, we can ensure not just the agreement's survival but its successful implementation."
